Proclamation of ascension
On Sunday 11th September, we had the honour of playing at ESBC's Proclamation of Ascension service, following the passing of our late sovereign , her majesty, The Queen, Elizabeth the Second. We felt very privileged to be at this momentous occasion. God save the King!

St Giles street party, 5th June 2022
We always look forward to attending this brilliant street party, however this year was a little different due to the lovely English weather. Rather than getting completely soaked outside we had the privilege of playing inside the fabulous St Giles church for the first time. What a sound!!
We also had to honour of being helped out by some guest conductors! Our conductor best watch out - there's definitely some rising stars in Derby!

Uttoxeter Town Band held a concert Pre- Pandemic to raise money for the charity 'Scottys Little Soldiers' . On Tuesday 26th April 2022, we finally had the opportunity to present the cheque to Glenda and Peter Jackson on behalf of Scotty's Little Soldiers. The charity provides support for bereaved British Forces children and young people. It was set up in memory of Corporal Lee Scott. For more information see https://www.scottyslittlesoldiers.co.uk
Christmas 2020
Christmas 2020
Sadly we don't have much to reflect on this year, Covid-19 has definitely impacted our usual banding year. We did, however, manage to finish the year on a high! We were invited by local nursing home, St Mary's Mount, to play carols for them. Typically the heavens opened as we arrived but we did mange to play a few tunes for them, which we were informed they thoroughly enjoyed, before we had to pack up and spend the next hour trying to dry our music out in our cars!
Later that day, when luckily the rain cleared and the sun came out, we played outside St Mary's Church in Uttoxeter, for their outdoor Christmas concert. We really enjoyed playing together again and entertaining everyone, it really did make us a feel a little more 'christmassy' after a very quiet December!
The 21st January saw us hold our annual band awards dinner. This gives us all a well deserved treat after the chaos that is Christmas and gives us opportunity to socialise outside of the band room. Most importantly however, we award members of the band with a number of awards.
The year 2020 marks Robs 10 year anniversary as conductor of the band. He received a special recognition award for his commitment to the band, along with his patience(!) , and for all the hard work he has put in over the years. Well done Rob, here's to 10 more years!
This year the award for Development Bands player of the year was awarded to Emma Beet. Development Bands most improved player of the year was awarded to David Bacon. The MD's player of the year was awarded to Michael Patterson and Band's Person of the year, as chosen by the band members, was awarded to Lucy Clipsom. Well done everyone!
